We said that we were excited to see this magazine grow, and grow it has! Now three times the size of the first issue, with more students and more professionals lending their experience and talents, issue 2 has become a reality.

But not just the second issue: we are pleased to now be launching a website dedicated to the magazine: bioscientistmagazine.com, where our writers can share their individual articles far and wide and all issues can be found in one place.

We hope to see this platform become a legacy for the magazine to continue to prosper as students graduate and new students take up the mantle. As such, we make a call to action: join us! We want this magazine to be an opportunity for as many students as possible to showcase their abilities.

When reflecting on this, the theme for the issue became clear:

Determining futures

How does a stem cell breakthrough determine the future of heart disease? How can a student take the appropriate steps to determine their own future? How will COVID-19 vaccination understanding and acceptance determine the future of the pandemic? What determines one's health, one's mind, one's success?

After all, what is science if not just finding out what factors determine another? Is bioscience not just the discovery of what determines life?
